The Bank of Tioga awards $30,000 to nonprofits for COVID-19 relief
Tioga, ND - The Bank of Tioga recently granted a total of $30,000 to four local nonprofits including the Tioga Chamber of Commerce, Tioga Area Economic Development Corporation, Tioga Medical Center and the Tioga Theatre.
The pandemic has provided different challenges for all genres of life, however, with several income-producing events being delayed, rescheduled or cancelled it has taken an economic toll. Many nonprofit operations, including both the Tioga Chamber and Tioga Area Economic Development Corporation, are dependent on revenue generated from events throughout the year.
Additionally, the Tioga Theatre has been closed since mid-March with no public movie showings. There have been limited, small events, however, a reopen date is still unknown at this time. The Tioga Medical Center has also experienced financial strain with the cancellation or postponement of several surgeries and ongoing health treatments during the early months of the pandemic.
“During these unique times, we wanted to provide both operational and programmatic support for local agencies that are a pillar within the community,” said David Grubb, The Bank of Tioga President. “We believe in helping people do more. This is our way to help give back and help provide hope for others.”
The Tioga Medical Center received $15,000, the Tioga Area Economic Development Corporation received $7,500, the Tioga Chamber of Commerce received $5,000 and the Tioga Theatre received $2,500.
The Bank of Tioga is committed to supporting its clients and community, now more than ever. To learn more about The Bank of Tioga’s community reinvestment efforts visit www.thebankoftioga.com.
