Personal & Professional Background

What inspired you to pursue a career in banking?

Honestly, I never thought about a career in banking until my wife and I decided to move back home which pushed in this direction. Every farm is unique and to see producers expand is incredibly rewarding to witness firsthand.

What’s the most memorable client interaction you’ve ever had?

There are too many to mention! You think you know everything about farming until you start talking to others. I’ve had countless conversations where we share knowledge across farms and work through seasonal changes and challenges together. Those moments of collaboration are what make this job unique.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone applying for a loan, what would it be?

Be honest up front provide as much detail as possible. Transparency makes the process smoother and helps us find the best solution for your needs.

What’s a common myth about banking or lending that you’d like to debunk?

The idea of “banker’s hours” isn’t true. I strive to be available to my clients whenever they need me. Every day is different, and this job is far from repetitive, and that’s what I love about it.

What skills or qualities do you think make someone successful in your role?

Honesty and timeliness are key. Building trust and responding quickly makes a difference.

Beyond Banking

If you weren’t in banking, what would your dream job be?

I’d probably dive deeper into cattle farming.

What is one thing you never leave the house without and why?

My cell phone. I once lost my phone, and it accidentally triggered an emergency alert that called 911 because it thought I was in a crash!

What does a typical Sunday afternoon look like for you?

Doing something outdoors and spending time with family.

What’s one thing in your office that always sparks a conversation with clients or coworkers?

Photos of my family and farming tends to connect with people.

Personal Interests & Hobbies

Current boards or volunteering you do and why you choose to get involved with those organizations?

I serve as Vice President of the Blue Line Hockey Board. My son Miles plays hockey, and I wanted to give back and help strengthen the organization. It’s a fun and rewarding way to volunteer.

Do you have a hobby or skill that others don’t know about?

I love hiking, camping, hunting - really anything outdoors.

What’s a dream destination you’d love to travel to?

Somewhere with top notch hunting and camping with a stellar view.

If you could recommend one book or movie that influenced you, what would it be?

I follow the Daily Market Update with Feeder Flash for insights into the livestock sector. It keeps me informed and connected to the industry and recommend to others in the ag industry.
