The Bank of Tioga accepting applications for annual REV business pitch competition
August 6, 2020
The Bank of Tioga is now accepting applications for its annual REV event, a pitch competition offering entrepreneurs and business owners the chance to win up to $15,000. The bank is partnering with the Tioga Area Economic Development Corporation to help provide an opportunity for business growth.
Applicants will be judged on their pitch, marketing, personal investment level and exit strategy.
Up to five applicants will be accepted into the competition. Entrants will have 10 minutes to pitch their business concepts to a panel of four judges, followed by questions from the panel, made up of bank officials and economic development directors from Tioga and Crosby.
This year’s event will be held virtually on November 6th. The Bank of Tioga started REV four years ago in an effort to spur economic growth and encourage business owners to continue pursuing their dreams. During the first three competitions the bank doled out $30,000 to winners.
Judges chose five winners last year, with Black Gold Dance winning $3,500 to remodel the old post office in Tioga to make it a dance studio. Hygge Hills winning $1,750 to build a small tractor-train to transport people around at Hygge Hills, Divide County Fair, Threshing Bee, parades, the Christmas Stroll and other local events. Crosby Self-Serve winning $1,750 for the future plans of getting new booths in the restaurant. Northern Prairie Market winning $1,500 to improve marketing by rebranding and launching a website. In The Potter’s Hand winning $1,500 to assist marketing efforts to ensure a good website.
