A $1,000 donation to honor 35 years of service

Today, we honor a familiar face at The Bank of Tioga who recently celebrated a big milestone. Judy Odegaard, Cashier and VP, is celebrating 35 years of service. In addition to an individual tenure gift, employees who serve more than 30 years with the bank receive $1,000 to donate to a charity of their choice, a donation that is made in their honor. Judy has chosen the Tioga Medical Center, an organization close to home.

Judy chose the Tioga Medical Center, and specifically their long-term care facility, as it has been a huge asset in the community and fulfilled the needs of many families. After last year and with the loss of residents and the separation of the residents from their loved ones due to the pandemic, this gift provides an added boost for activities and supplies that go above and beyond for them.

The Tioga Medical Center's long-term care employees know their residents well and provide such good care. Judy stated, “We're so lucky to have long-term care in Tioga through the Tioga Medical Center so our local elderly can stay in Tioga, close to their friends and family. I'm so happy to give this gift to the Tioga Medical Center residents; many of them have done so much for our community. It’s nice to give back!”

Growing up in Tioga, Judy’s relationship with The Bank of Tioga began early. The bank has always been a part of her community and has played a big role in her life. Judy started with the bank in 1986 as a data processor, in 1991 became the cashier and in 2002 was promoted to vice president and cashier. 

“The Bank of Tioga has given me so many opportunities for growth, knowledge and leadership throughout my career. I love banking, the people I work with and my hometown,” Judy explained as she reflected on her memories with the bank. “Together we have made it through a lot of changes in banking over the last 35 years, but best of all serving our community well. We truly are family.”
