The Bank of Tioga is now accepting applications for its annual REV event, a pitch competition offering entrepreneurs and business owners the chance to win up to $10,000. The bank is partnering with the Tioga Area Economic Development Corporation to help provide an opportunity for business growth.

Applicants will be judged on their pitch, marketing, personal investment level and exit strategy.

Five applicants will be accepted into the competition. Entrants will have ten minutes to pitch their business concepts to a panel four of judges, followed by questions from the panel, made up of bank officials and economic development directors from Tioga and Crosby.

The Bank of Tioga started REV three years ago in an effort to spur economic growth and encourage business owners to continue pursuing their dreams. During the first two competitions the bank doled out $20,000 to winners.

Judges chose three winners last year, with Just Off Main of Tioga winning $3,600 to make improvements to their private dining and meeting room, Beverly’s Café of Crosby winning $3,400 winning for the purchase of a soft serve ice cream machine and for use toward equipment repairs and replacement and $3,000 to Henny’s of Crosby for use to expand their health menu options.

The pitches will start at 1 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Bank of Tioga Crosby location, 11 Central Avenue E.

The application deadline is Oct. 20. Apply now – go to thebankoftioga.com/rev for a chance to enter the competition.
