The Bank of Tioga Helps Tri-City CARES Residents to Purchase New Transportation

November 17, 2017

The Bank of Tioga recently reinvested $25,000 toward Tri-City CARES (TCC) to assist with the purchase of a new wheelchair accessible van. The Tri-City CARES mission is to empower people in the community to achieve their goals by providing continuity, individualized supports, and equal opportunities.

Tri-City CARES is a private, nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing quality support and services to people with intellectual disabilities. TCC strives to provide support and services that are least personal, age appropriate and help individuals engage in meaningful work based on their specific interests and skills. Various training and programs are executed in order to maximize independence, create a normalizing atmosphere, and promote community integration.

“We believe in the mission and of Tri-City CARES and want to contribute and support them as they make our community a better place to live for everyone,” said David Grubb, Market President for the Bank of Tioga.

All three locations of Tri-City CARES in Tioga, Stanley and New Town will be using this new van upon purchase.

“Tri-City CARES (TCC) would like to express our deepest gratitude for the very generous donation of $25,000 from The Bank of Tioga. The donation will be put towards the purchase of a new wheelchair accessible van. The Bank of Tioga is making a big difference in the lives of the people TCC supports. Also, as a provider to people with disabilities, it's reassuring to know when staff are assisting people to attend work and community activities. They will be using a dependable, trustworthy vehicle,” said Sonya Owan, Opportunity Foundation Executive Director.
